another miracle

This morning, I sat in plastic sound booth, and blew into a tube, which was hooked to a computer that measures lung function and capacity. It’s called a Pulmonary Function Test with Bronchodilator and is done in my pulmonologist’s office.

This test, among other things, reports the percentage of usable lung tissue I have which is not taken up with scar tissue.  Or whatever it is that, when heard through a stethoscope, makes my breathing sound like fresh milk on Rice Krispies!).

Three years ago, my usable lung tissue was 75%.

This February, it had dropped to 62%.

Today it has returned to 75%!

I am over the moon with happiness.

  1. So very happy for you. One of our Lumper friends had lung cancer and a lung removed like 30 years ago. She is close to 90 now and still hiking/walking with us. Wouldn’t her number be 50%??? Your future looks very bright and robust indeed.
