noticing

As my spirits begin to lift and the clouds have somewhat cleared, I realize, once again, how precious time is. I can either choose to be weighed down in greyness or remember to notice a special moment each day.

So, I grabbed my camera to document a special moment. In just one day,

I had 30 images! My life is full of them if I simply stop and pay attention.

Each morning, I chop carrots for my girl

These are just the details of my barn life. (The ‘kittens’ come later)

My grooming trunk inside the tack room.
My dressage saddle, pad and helmet.
My trunk outdoors by her shed row. More grooming stuff, fly spray and her halter with lead rope.
The runs are cleaned each day, but I like to keep hers really clean with my own tools.
Her velvet muzzle and whorls of hair and whiskers are so precious to me.
We walk by the barrows of grass hay and alfalfa for the afternoon feeding.
The outdoor arena with jump standards and the distant Rocky Mountains. For riding and lessons.
When we finish, she gets to roll in the arena and always returns to me for a nuzzle.
Leaving the barn, a neighbor’s black angus napping under his young trees.

I hope this encourages you to do the same. Life is short – we must pay attention to all the gifts with which we are surrounded.

  1. You are so right, E. I keep reminding myself that my time is for joy and insight and appreciation and kindness and love. Thanks for bringing. It front and center.
