SUMMER SOLSTICE   6/20/24

We are celebrating the turning of the sun under another heat dome. Rather than succumb to lethargy, I decided to get up and capture some of the early morning light.

So, today will be all about pictures, not a story.

Scotch Pine babies discovered as I was practicing with my walking sticks.

Choke Cherry tree beside my house.

Billy, napping in a moon puddle.

First cutting. It takes a lot of tractors to make a bale of hay. I admire farm equipment.

The opposite side of the road, a new crop of pumpkins.

Chicory beside the road to the barn.

Chicory facing the dawn.

A wild crop of thistles beside the barn.

Beautiful and dangerous. However, I do think of my Scotch lineage when I see thistles.

A baby beside Luna’s run.

Said bunny retreating to the protection of the thistles.

The Road Taken.

I hope you enjoyed these images without having to brave the heat.

Blessings, elizabeth

  1. Lovely pictures, Elizabeth! Glad you have joined the walking stick crowd. Better all over exercise, as well as some relief for knees and hips.
