As the winter holidays approached, we wanted to decorate something. In Colorado we rarely have a lovely background of snow-covered trees, fences or pastures in December. However, we wanted holiday pictures with the donks, so, Carol and I decided to decorate them! It was probably a ‘first’ for the boys and we had no idea what their reactions to bells, balls and tinsel might be.

Armed with red and green, Carol gathered the unsuspecting donks with a hug, a big smile and a kind voice.

“Geesh, Styx lookit what she put on my head! Dis is embarrassing!”
“Oh de-ah, my little friend, it is a bit unsightly. Is there any way you can dislodge that less than attractive object?”

Carol was in stitches hearing the two of them discussing the ‘decorations”. Then it was my turn.

“If I hide behind da big one, maybe she won’t see dat creepy ting on da ground”
“She is definitely utilizing a display of affection as a distraction; however, I do fancy the look of her neck warmer on my handsome gray nape.”

“I say there little man, she appears to have charmed you.”
“Doncha worry, it’s a game I’m playin’. I’m gonna make a run fer it, just as soon as she stops wit da hugging”

But instead, Styx and Louie fell under Carol’s charm and quietly accompanied her back to the barn for dinner.
Playing with these wooly little guys certainly made the holidays special for both of us.
Happy Winter Holidays from the boys to you……whenever December comes around.

To be continued……………..
These are so fun and uplifting, Elizabeth. They bring smiles and touch the heart. Keep ‘em coming! ❣️
