Loving differences #134

We easily share compassion with our friends whose spirits are draped in fur, hair or feathers. They are obviously different from us. Why is it so difficult to extend this love to those who wear different skin colors, worship a different god, or lean in a different political direction?

Whether our souls are draped in skin of different pigments, this diversity extends into our lineages, histories, life experiences and ways of thinking. Can’t we celebrate these differences?

Can we remember we each have the capacity to love? Can we remember that love is stronger than fear?  Can we remember that fear separates us into ‘Us and Them’ and is the root of duality thinking and our ultimate downfall?
