Daily Exhale #268

It is always recommended we ‘take a deep breath’ when we are trying to calm down. I love the reminder, but it’s often just a quick ‘sip’ high up near the throat.

I’ve found it more important to concentrate on the exhale, to first take a deep breath then exhale longer than it took to inhale. Let the exhale expel so much air, there isn’t anywhere else to go, then add a slow inhale.

Worth a try?

In Colorado, we generally do not have humidity at night. In Massachusetts, a walk in early morning reveals beautiful spider webs on the dew in the grasses. Even with wet sneakers, they are delightful to behold.
